Part-Time Front of House

The Walmart AMP is looking for motivated individuals to join our Front of House team. We are currently recruiting for part time positions.

Usher:
We are seeking applicants that possess excellent communication skills, as well as a strong background in customer service to work as an Usher at the Walmart Amp. This is a part time position. Ushers must be flexible to work weekdays and weekends with hours beginning at 5:00 PM and ending by approximately 11:20 PM.

  • Ushers attend to guests and guide them to their assigned sections and/or seats before and during an event.
  • Ushers provide directions and information regarding facilities such as restrooms, medical room, concession areas, box office, smoking area, merchandise tents, etc.
  • Ushers greet people who are coming in and out of the venue with courtesy and kindness and are primarily assigned to the opening of aisles, assisting patrons to find seats in the venue.
  • Ushers must be physically capable of standing for up to 6 hours on cement in an outdoor environment. This position includes walking up and down the General Admission lawn seating area, which is a steep grassy hill with cement walkways.
  • The season runs from March through October so applicants must be capable of enduring summer temperatures.

Ticket Scanners/Front Gate Staff:
These staff members are stationed at all entry gates with a hand-held ticket scanning device. They are required to scan every ticket before allowing entrance to the facility. This is a part time position. Ticket scanners must be flexible to work weekdays and weekends with hours beginning at 5:00 PM and ending by 11:00 PM.

  • Ticket Scanners must attend equipment training sessions prior to assignment.
  • Ticket Scanners may be re-assigned to other FOH positions after opening pressure at the gates subsides.
  • Ticket Scanners are the second line of defense in preventing prohibited items from entering the venue and must be vigilant and focused.
  • Ticket Scanners must be physically capable of standing for up to 6 hours on cement in an outdoor environment. Re-assignment positions may necessitate walking up and down the General Admission lawn seating area, which is a steep grassy hill with cement walkways.

Greeters
Greeters are the first staff member to welcome patrons to the Walmart AMP after tickets have been scanned. This is a part time position. Greeters must be flexible to work weekdays and weekends with hours beginning at 5:00 PM and ending by 11:00 PM.

  • Greeters must have a thorough knowledge of AMP Policies, procedure.
  • Greeters must be knowledgeable about the venue layout (e.g. restrooms, concessions, customer service, medical room, location of First Aid Kits ) in order to answer patron questions.
  • Greeters should always be friendly, outgoing, and greet patrons with a smile. Greeters need to be aware of the show itinerary (ie: name of bands performing and in what order and time of performance).
  • Greeters assist Floor Leaders with patrons who have special needs with knowledge to direct them to the appropriate ADA section as indicated.
  • Greeters may be reassigned to other FOH positions after opening pressure at the gates subsides.
  • Greeters must be physically capable of standing for up to 6 hours on cement in an outdoor environment. This position may also include walking up and down the General Admission lawn seating area, which is a steep grassy hill with cement walkways.

Part-Time Housekeeping

Walton Arts Center is accepting applications for enthusiastic, hardworking part time employees to join the housekeeping department of the Walmart AMP .   The position will work with other housekeeping staff to clean the Walmart AMP before, during, and after large outdoor events which includes interacting with patrons when they attend shows.  This position is working outdoors in weather extremes, heat will be a factor.   Pay is competitive.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or general education degree.
  • One to six months related experience and/or training.

Local Stage Crew

Serve as an employee of the Production Department to provide technical and production services as needed. Stagehands may work in different venues, including traditional theatrical spaces e.g. Walton Arts Center, the AMP, other outdoor venues, concert arenas, and others.  For the most part, the Local Crew’s work consists of supporting touring shows at each venue.

Generally, local stagehands "load in" a tour under the direction of the road crew and WAC’s Production Department Heads. This involves moving equipment (lighting, sound, scenic, wardrobe, musical instruments, etc) from the trucks to the appropriate positions throughout the venue. Local crews also “run” cable and operate theatrical equipment such as follow spots, as well as perform cues during the performance. Following the final performance local stagehands will take the show apart and load it back onto the trucks.

REPORTS TO:

Production Services Manager and Senior Production Staff.

EMPLOYMENT CATEGORY:

Temporary Part-Time as needed, not eligible for benefits

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Must be able bodied and well suited to a fast paced environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to listen and follow directions.
  • Must be willing to work unconventional hours including nights, weekends and holidays.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent GED with working knowledge, and working experience in electrics, carpentry or wardrobe preferred.  Orientation and Basic Safety Training, provided by Walton Arts Center, will be required before starting work.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist with the technical aspects of events, including, but not limited to, sound, lighting, staging, wardrobe, hair/wigs, properties, and hospitality for artists as well as crew.
  • Assist in maintaining safe working conditions by utilizing best practices and following all prescribed safety guidlines, Assist in technical equipment operation, maintenance and replacement.. Including preventative maintenance of technical equipment, as needed and directed by the Production Department Heads or other senior Production staff.
  • Assist with orderly maintenance of stage and backstage areas.
  • Act as Walton Arts Center Production Department representative as assigned.
  • Any other tasks assigned by management for which the employee is qualified and physically able to perform consistent with the scope of the Production Department responsibilities.
  • Must adhere to all policies and procedures as referenced in the Walton Arts Center Local Crew Safety Manual & Handbook.
  • The Walton Arts Center is a drug-free workplace.
